Faurecia & Design

Conveying customers’ brand values

Components produced by Faurecia’s R&D department must provide a seamless match for automakers’ vehicles while reflecting or enhancing key characteristics—a task given to the Group’s Industrial Design Department.

In order to convey the automaker’s brand values through distinctive features, Faurecia created a cross-disciplinary Industrial Design Department comprising teams in France, Germany and the United States. The department works closely with its customers in the vehicle design phase. Its members work in small teams, each of which is assigned to a specific brand to ensure the automaker’s values are integrated early in the R&D process.

A key part of this assignment involves anticipating the expectations of tomorrow’s consumer—today’s vehicles have a development cycle of around six years.
